Stereo View of boys having fun in Richmond, Virginia, ca. 1870s.


I found this image on EBAY some months ago (kept the image, could not afford the actual card). About the photographer of this image, David H. Anderson, see:
"Anderson is considered a pioneer in early photography. He made his first pictures (daguerreotypes) in Paducah, Kentucky in 1855. He later worked in Cincinnati (Ohio), Dayton (Ohio), New Orleans (Louisiana), Louisville (Kentucky), and various other cities. He finally settled for awhile in Richmond, Virginia in 1865. In 1881, he sold his studio and moved to New York City."    ------    That information came from HERE.

This image dates from the 1870s and certainly no later than 1880 because that is when noted photographer George Smith Cook bought the Anderson photographic gallery. A Large collection of Cook photographs is housed at the Valentine Richmond History Center
