Purity Baking Co., Laying of Cornerstone, corner of W. Cary St. and S. Jefferson St., 1914.

The Purity Baking Co. of Richmond, Virginia
laid its cornerstone for its building on the 200 block
of W. Cary St. (corner of W. Cary and S. Jefferson) in 1914.
This area of Richmond was the location for a number of bakeries over the years.

Didn't this used to be the Wonderbread factory as well? I miss the scent of baking bread!

Similar location but not the Wonderbread factory factory we remember - I think there were a few large bakeries in this area in the first half of the 20th century as well as a number of horse stables and horse vets.
