Richmond Music History Tour, Sat. Sept. 28, 2013 - Organized by WRIR

From WRIR - "On September 28, join Richmond music historians Gregg Kimball and Don Harrison as they take you on a journey through Richmond's bright jewels and dark corners where its musical history happened and continues to be made. The WRIR Music History Tour covers 150 years of Richmond history in a two hour bus tour. From Elvis's infamous "kiss" backstage, to gospel and funk downtown and then the punk and alternative music scene that happened on Grace Street, you'll discover a history of Richmond overlooked by typical tourists. Who knows, maybe you were a part of Richmond's music history.
WRIR-LP 97.3 FM airs underrepresented music, news and views in order to provide a platform for cultural diversity in Richmond. Techno and jazz. World music and punk. Soul and folk and straight-up rock ’n’ roll. All types of music have a home at WRIR, and all of our music programs are created by volunteer DJs and aired live."
This is a fundraising effort and the cost of the tour is $25.00 - but it's well worth it.
